Crispy Halloumi Burgers



If you don't eat meat, these Crispy Halloumi Burgers are a great vegetarian option. The crisp breadcrumbs cover the halloumi cheese slices, which are served with a tangy garlic mayo sauce. They're great for a quick and filling meal.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large halloumi cheese slices
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 pickle slices

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400F 200C

In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, breadcrumbs, paprika, black pepper, and salt

Dip each halloumi slice into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, and then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the halloumi to adhere

Place the coated halloumi slices on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crispy

While the halloumi is baking, mix together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and minced garlic to make the sauce

Split and lightly toast the burger buns

Assemble the burgers by spreading the garlic mayo sauce on the bottom half of each bun

Place a crispy halloumi slice on top of the sauce

Top with lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and pickle slices

Place the top bun on the assembled ingredients to complete the burger

Serve your crispy halloumi burgers hot, with your favorite side dish
