Wine and Food Pairing: Cabernet Sauvignon with Filet Mignon

Indulge in a luxurious dining experience with perfectly cooked filet mignon complemented by a rich Cabernet Sauvignon wine sauce. This recipe is designed to elevate your meal to new heights of flavor and sophistication.

Ingredients:

  • 2 filet mignon steaks 6-8 ounces each
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 cup Cabernet Sauvignon wine
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions:

Preheat the Chateau Wine Chiller to the appropriate temperature for serving Cabernet Sauvignon

Season the filet mignon steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat

Add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness

Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside

In the same skillet, add minced garlic and rosemary sprigs

Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant

Pour in Cabernet Sauvignon wine and let it simmer, scraping the bottom of the skillet to incorporate any browned bits

Reduce the wine by half, then stir in butter until melted and the sauce thickens slightly

Return the steaks to the skillet and coat them in the wine sauce

Cook for an additional minute to warm the steaks through

Serve the filet mignon steaks with the wine sauce drizzled on top, accompanied by your favorite sides

Pair with a glass of the same Cabernet Sauvignon wine used in the sauce, chilled to perfection in the Chateau Wine Chiller
