Baked Churro Donuts

These baked churro donuts are a delightful twist on classic churros. They're fluffy, cinnamon-sugar-coated, and perfect for a breakfast treat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • For the Churro Coating:
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a donut pan

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined

Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted

While the donuts are baking, prepare the churro coating by mixing granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow bowl

Once the donuts are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes

Dip each donut in the melted butter, then roll it in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat it completely

Place the coated donuts on a wire rack to cool completely and allow the coating to set

Enjoy your homemade baked churro donuts for breakfast!
