Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring
  • White chocolate chips
  • Black decorating gel
  • Colored decorating icing

Instructions:

Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl with a whisk

Mix the butter and sugar in a different bowl until the mixture is smooth

Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are well mixed

Split the dough in half

To make one half, add red food coloring and knead it until the color is spread out evenly

Put the dough in the fridge for about an hour after cutting it in half

Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet

Make a gnome body shape out of a small piece of red dough

Put it on the baking sheet

Shape a small piece of white dough into a beard and put it on the gnome's face

For eyes, press two white chocolate chips into the dough

Add a small dot for the nose with the black decorating gel

To make more gnome cookies, do the steps again

For 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden, bake the cookies

For a few minutes, let the cookies cool on the baking sheet

Then, move them to a wire rack to cool completely

After the cookies are completely cool, use colored frosting to decorate the gnomes with hats, hearts, and other things

Wait for the icing to harden before you serve or package the cookies
